Hows that for PR work on the buying public ? The Sako rifles are affected too as they use the same barrel manufacturer. To all who have these rifles please be advised of the recall on T3 Stainless rifles with serial numbers starting with 419140 and going to 461951.I was about to buy a Tikka with the serial number 435081 and the Stoeger rep told me my rifle was fine and safe to shoot.Although he would not give me any guarantee especially when the serial number fell within the list he provided. Around here, anyway, they are priced a little higher than they should be.Īll else equal, I'd buy a true Savage, not an Axis or Edge or what ever they call it now, before I bought a Tikka.Įdited by vatikkashooter ( 02/05/15 04:22 PM) I think the rifle is really right between an entry level and a mid-level one. It is comparable to my Mod 700 and the Savage. It was nice not to have to buy those when I got the rifle. The scope rings are good enough in my view but not great. The magazine is flimsy and you do need to be careful that it's seated in the magazine well properly. The stock feels like it was made by Mattel- entry level. It is accurate, but it just hangs with the others in that regard. The trigger is great, but so are the others. The action is butter smooth, but it is just in the pack with the others on everything else. The Tikka is not my favorite by any means. I also have a Rem 700 in 7mm-08, a Mauser-actioned rifle in 270 with a Douglas barrel and Timney trigger, and a Savage Mod 11 in 223.
